I ordered Avery 5698 because Amazon's picture and description very clearly show this product is designed for CD -and- DVD. The product I received was indeed 5698, but the package doesn't match the Amazon photo. These (5698) are CD -only- labels. I called Avery and the CSR said that Avery no longer makes a Laser-printer-compatible label for DVDs: it was discontinued years ago, she said, but didn't have the product number in her computer system, hmm! She claimed no knowledge of the Amazon web site but said it must be wrong but she couldn't check. It's hard to believe somebody at Amazon is using Photoshop to alter the product appearances, and is misrepresenting the product description! That doesn't make sense. I think Avery screwed up. For normal people, 5165 is the one to buy. The backing paper on Staples 8.5x11 labels is made with a single cut, which the people in our office find irritating to work with. Having suffered through 100 of those, we returned to the Avery brand and got the 30605's. Ugh! The 30605's are less expensive, but they're cheaper for a reason. Stay away from those and buy these.

I've tried using the directions and word template and no matter how I size my image their is some blank space along the right side of bottom of the card. The card prints well and comes apart well.

It tends to bend toward the back a bit and feels about half as thick as a normal business card.

While the quality of the paper itself was good- I used Avery's online program to print my cards. The images on the cards were constantly off, and the page which allowed me to adjust the setting of how it printed did not work- Out of the 200 cards that I received- I will only be able to use about 50 of them. Every time that I tried to adjust settings it would not work. I'm sure it's easier for those that have Microsoft Word- but I wouldn't recommend the online template.

I initially used this for "chore cards" for my children that easily got soiled, bent, wet, etc and loved the results so much that I bought some more. It is super easy to use and makes paper items that you want to last so much more durable. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I found that sometimes it didn't cut real smoothly and I would have to go back and re-trim the edges, but that may be the paper cutter I was using. Also, it has a split back to make peeling the paper off easy, but it is only in one place, so if you are using it for smaller items, it can be hard to get the backing off. Overall though I really love this product and can find all sorts of uses for it! Plus the price was great.

They are easy to use. I use a heat press at 375 degrees for 20 seconds when I put them on canvas tote bags and aprons. However with the new "improved" transfers, there is always too much blue tint. I didn't have this problem using the same pictures with the older un-improved transfers. Expect to waste a few until you adjust your pictures to reduce the blue tint.

I have been using the Avery Half-Fold Greeting Cards # 3265 for years. I have tried many other brands. Most "glossy" card stock I have purchased is so flimsy the cards have a cheap, "funky" feel and not worth the ink. The Avery 3265 stock has a nice feel, is thick enough to feel like a real card and the print output is quite phenomenal with my Epson Stylus Photo Printer.

I have printed photo's, clip art and every possible combination over the years on the Avery 3265 card stock and I am constantly blown away by the quality of the prints as are the people I give the cards to. Perhaps the person that can not get good photo prints on them is using the wrong printer (I use a Canon and my Epson and both get great results). I get photo-realistic prints that are just as good as on photo card stock (albeit on the 3265 matt finish). I just printed Chinese New Year cards today and one in particular, a dragon on a black background looks like the black area is pure velvet. Very cool.

I highly recommend the Avery 3265 card stock for anyone wanting to make cards from home. Just a tip. Best prints come out of an inkjet photo printer (any brand). You will use a bit of ink to make the card, but, hey, that is why you bought a photo printer. So you could make "cool" prints!

Anyway, that's my two-cents worth :0)

I tried several iron-ons. They go on easily enough, but crack almost immediately when you're wearing them. small or large; doesn't matter the size. I followed the directions carefully and even timed the ironing down to the second. Does't matter--they crack! JUNK, and a waste of money. Now I have ruined T's. One shirt I actually washed--it was ruined anyway--and the stuff flaked off in the washer. Same thing happens to HP transfers, according to the reviews. It could be the ink in the printers aren't compatible? Reason why some are okay and some not? Don't know but they need to put that on the package to warn people!

I am making team t-shirts on navy, and royal blue t-shirts. These transfers worked beautifully. After reading the reviews, I was very careful to read the instructions VERY carefully. As long as you follow the instructions, there are no problems. The artwork transferred very well to the t-shirt with no bleed through.

I only had two mishaps: 1, I used the transfer sheet at its orginal size, well the cover paper they give you to use with the transfer is just as large as the transfer paper. The cover paper slipped a little while ironing, and spread a little on the t-shirt, as well as got on my iron. If you are going to use the full size transfer paper I suggest using two sheets of the cover paper overlapping to make sure there is no slippage. I was able to brush off the mistake after it cooled a little, and you really can't tell it was ever there. The second mishap I encountered was that I was putting a small logo on the front of the t-shirt, and inadvertently burned it just a little (its a little dark), since while ironing I never did move off the logo because it was so small. Now when putting on the smaller logo, I make sure my iron completely moves off the transfer periodically, and shorten the ironing time just a bit. A good product, you just need to follow the directions.

Also, I found by transfers at Office Depot for about $4 less than what is advertised on Amazon. I was anxious to try them out so decided to buy them local. Usually Amazon has the lowest prices, but I guess they can't do it all the time.

I do not understand the good reviews. Maybe I am just not that good with my printer. But I did not find the software all that easy to use, I could not get the printer to properly calibrate so the cards were not lined up properly, the sheets did not want to feed through my printer, the color coverage in particular was not good, but neither was the black, I tried doing a photo on the card and it really came out badly, the card stock seems heavy enough to me, but it does not seem like good business card stock would be, black and white came out better than color, but still not that good, etc. To me the final product looks nothing like a professional business card would look. These might do if you were running a lawn cutting service or something and did not want customers to think that you were overcharging, but they are going to send the wrong signal for any professional. The no perforation separation did work well and is pretty impressive. Strikes me as an interesting product that is not there yet. I am going to give the ink jet version a try. May that will be better. I really do not understand how others did better with this than I did, but to me these were pretty much a complete waster of time and money. No way I would give out these cards. I would write out my contact information by hand before I did. Just not at all up to snuff.

I purchased these labels, assuming they are the best. Well, when I got them home, they constantly got jammed in my HP printer. I'd have to open the back of the printer after each page to get the 2 or 3 labels that have become lodged inside my printer. It always grabs the 2 or 3 labels on the left hand side of the page. This also was a problem in my wifes printer, and my father in law's printer. All HP's. Now, maybe there is a problem with HP, but considering that they have so many printers on the market, you'd think that Avery would design a label that wouldn't come off in these printers. I called Avery to complain, and they sent me 10 sheets of free labels, but guess what...they also got stuck inside my printer. I found another company "wilson jones" that sells the same sized labels that do not get stuck. The funny think is that there is the wording "Labels Won't Jam" on the front of the Wilson Jones lables.

I've been a user of 3 x 5 cards for decades. There's always a stack of them in my shirt pocket, though I do admit to not using them consistently.

Right now, I'm working on a project that requires me to catalog dozens of snippets from various sources and then integrate them into my writing. Typical outlining programs won't handle this well, so it's back to the index cards. Fortunately, one of my outlining programs handles output to the Avery cards.

You can also use them with Microsoft Word, FileMaker, Access and any other program that lets you format your print output.

These things tear neatly and accept laser or inkjet output.

Brutally expensive when compared to ordinary index cards, but incomparably handy. Worth the price when you need a foolproof method of printing index cards. The regular ones often don't get along with some - actually many - printers.

It had been years since I first printed on Avery business cards. Back then, those cards would show the perforations. And, it had no special finishes to make them look professional. So, they basically looked like something cheap that I printed at home - which they were but... this made them useless to me.

Now, I needed to generate some personal business cards, and noticed the upgrades - No perforations... really? Photo quality... yes? Print on both sides... ok. And also a linen texture ... for inkjets??? Ok, I'll try it again.

I'm glad I did. These cards are fantastic!!

I printed them on my HP Deskjet 3127 printer in normal mode. They printed out sharp and bright - the text leaps off the pages. The phots and graphics looks a little muted which makes a nice artistic contrast with the text. The linen look looks great! (Which for me is better as I did not have to waste the ink to make the background look more unique.) And, best of all, there are no perforations at all. (I did not try printing on the back yet, but it seems that it would work fine.) So, this is exactly what I was looking for - business cards in lots of 10, not 200 - and updateable and customizable at home!

My only bugger - and this has been for years and with all Avery products -is that I used to be able to choose a template and just use it. But, nowadays I have to tweak the margins and the size of the squares on printed page for the template until it lands in the outline of the squares. I'm sure that this is a departure from the Avery - HP - Microsoft alignment that they used to have, but it is a pain. Once done the first time, of course, everything is good.

I'm not sure why others ran into problems. These are high quality cards that make great, professional looking prints. I'm using the most common printer brand, HP. They probably expected this, and this appears to be what the labels were designed for. Mine worked great out of the box.

If anything, I'd say that Avery quality has improved and is even better than what it used to be - with more options and higher end features.

If you're worried about the bad reviews, maybe make sure that you notice "Ink Jet" or "Laser" before you buy and make any printer adjustments needed - after all, this is a do-it-yourself solution. Understand that these -are- quality labels that do exactly what they were intended to, and you might have to make some tweaks on your end to address any compatibility issues. If you have an exotic set-up that the labels weren't designed for, then of course you may have to make adjustments - but in my view that's nobody's fault - not Avery's, not yours - it's just one of those things. If you have an HP inkjet, then yours will likely work great out of the box like mine. The labels are super!

I've printed dozens and dozens of my own greeting cards using multiple boxes of Avery Inkjet Note Cards (template 8315) using an Epson R1800 photo printer. You get 60 matte-finish white greeting cards and 60 white envelopes in a box. The cards can be printed on BOTH front/back matte surfaces with equally fine results!

These Avery greeting cards are a perfect thickness to offer a real quality feel. I take photography very seriously, and these cards do an excellent job at reproducing photos. I still have a test card that I printed in 2005 and the photo looks just as vivid and sharp today as the day I printed it - a perfect match for Epson archival inks.

I only wish that Epson photo printers were nearly as mechanically reliable as these cards are for printed photos!

FINALLY, I wish I would have found these a month ago when I started selling. They are the cheapest price for self-adhesive shipping labels anywhere! And to boot, free shipping! They work just like normal paper on my standard ink jet printer. The day I received them someone bought one of my items so I was able to test them out and they worked flawlessly. Later I realized that you can get them for free UPS though but only if you use them for UPS.

Now that I am the committee secretary for my son's Boy Scout troop, I volunteered to set up a troop newsletter. Well, writing the newsletter turned out to be the easy part - the hard part was either hand-writing the envelopes, or stuffing the envelopes through my printer one at a time. Now that is no longer a problem.

All I have to do now is feed a sheet of these labels through my printer, and I can print up a batch of mailing labels and be all ready.
